A meeting between US President Donald Trump and his national security team aimed at discussing an end to the conflict with Iran concluded without any announced decision. The meeting, held in the White House Situation Room on Friday, lasted for nearly two hours. However, several hours after its conclusion, officials had not disclosed whether Trump had reached a final decision.
In a statement, a White House official said, “The Situation Room meeting has concluded and lasted approximately two hours. President Trump will only agree to a deal that is beneficial to the United States and meets the conditions he has set. Iran will never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon.”
Earlier on Friday, Trump announced the meeting himself, saying it had been called to make a “final decision” regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the launch of discussions on Iran’s nuclear program.

Meanwhile, Tehran has indicated that communication with Washington remains open, but no memorandum of understanding has yet been finalized. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that the two countries continue to maintain contact, but no final agreement has been reached.
There has also been no confirmation as to whether Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has approved any potential agreement.
In a related development, Iran has established a new organization called the “Persian Gulf Strait Authority” to regulate vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz and ensure compliance with its rules. Although the organization was recently added to the US Treasury Department’s sanctions list, it has declared that it will continue its operations without interruption.
