UAE Warns Iran of Strong Response After Drone Intercepted

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned Iran after its air defenses intercepted and destroyed an attacking drone over Emirati waters, describing the incident as a highly dangerous escalation.

In a statement issued Monday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the country reserves the right under international law to take appropriate measures in response to what it described as a hostile attack against its security.

UAE Rejects Claim of Direct Base Attack

Iran had earlier said it launched drone strikes against the Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE and a U.S. military facility in Jordan in retaliation for an American operation on Iran’s Larak Island.

The UAE, however, rejected reports that Iranian forces had directly attacked a military installation inside its territory.

According to the Emirati authorities, the drone was detected while approaching through the country’s maritime area. The UAE’s air-defense system intercepted the aircraft before it could reach a military facility.

Tensions Rise Across the Gulf

The incident comes amid rapidly escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, with Tehran and Washington exchanging military threats and reported attacks.

The drone incident over Emirati waters has added another layer of uncertainty to an already volatile regional situation. Officials and analysts are now watching closely for the possibility that further military actions could widen the confrontation across the Gulf and the broader Middle East.
