Bangladesh has intensified bilateral talks to import urea fertilizer, LPG, LNG, and other petroleum products from Malaysia under a government-to-government (G2G) framework to support its growing agricultural and industrial demands. Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia, Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, held a high-level meeting with Mazuin Ismail, the Senior Vice President, Managing Director, and CEO of Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad, at the company’s headquarters in the iconic Petronas Twin Towers on Monday. The discussion focused primarily on streamlining supply chains and forging a long-term strategic partnership between the two nations to ensure a steady influx of essential petrochemicals into Bangladesh. Responding favorably to Bangladesh’s import proposals, the Petronas leadership expressed a highly positive outlook toward ensuring a consistent supply of urea fertilizer. This pivotal diplomatic and commercial meeting was also attended by the CEO of Petronas Chemicals Marketing, the Head of Fertilizer Marketing, alongside the Deputy High Commissioner, First Secretary (Commercial), and Third Secretary (Political) from the Bangladesh High Commission.
