The inauguration ceremony of the newly formed executive committee of the New York–Bangladesh Press Club emphasized the importance of objective journalism, professional responsibility, and unity among journalists working in New York. The event was held on Friday, April 24, at Gulshan Terrace in Woodside, New York City.
Speakers at the event highlighted that journalism continues to move forward despite various challenges. They noted that ethnic journalism is particularly demanding, yet community-based media outlets continue to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and commitment, which deserves recognition.

The award was handed over by former Member of Parliament and chairman of the editorial board of weekly Thikana, MM Shahin, along with other prominent editors and community leaders.
