Orlando, Florida – Tuesday, August 18th, was an important day for the 40th FOBANA Convention host committee. The meeting, held at Bombay Grill Restaurant at 7 p.m., was presided over by Convenor Anowar HossainSentu and Member Secretary Russell Miah conducted the meeting. Almost all host committee members and subcommittee conveners joined, ensuring every idea was shared and the plans were clear.
The committee introduced a lively three-day schedule. Friday evening will start with a special opening ceremony, celebrating FOBANA’s fourth decade, followed by the grand Gala Dinner. On Saturday, there will be seminars, performances by member organizations, and evening shows with guest artists from Bangladesh and the U.S. Sunday will have more seminars, the FOBANA Annual General Meeting and the election of the new central committee. The evening will once again feature performances from member groups and special guests from around the world. The committee also invited local officials, including a possible guest from a local congressman, as well as county and city officials, who will join the celebration.
With strong teamwork, the committee is ready to host a memorable event, celebrating four decades of FOBANA’s work in promoting Bangladeshi culture and heritage worldwide.
