Iran’s military has claimed that it has destroyed nearly all U.S. military infrastructure at the American base in Erbil, Iraq, asserting that a significant portion of U.S. military facilities across the Middle East is now effectively inoperable.
The claim was made on Saturday (July 25) by Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces, during a televised address on Iran’s state broadcaster.
Akraminia said Iranian strikes had caused severe damage to multiple U.S. military installations, with the Erbil base suffering particularly extensive destruction. He also claimed that U.S.-backed “anti-revolutionary groups” operating from the area had lost their ability to conduct activities.
He further stated that although the United States could attempt to rebuild its military capabilities using forces stationed across West Asia, Southern Europe, and the Mediterranean, Iran would continue its military operations if the conflict persisted.
According to Akraminia, after 40 days of fighting, Iran has deployed a new generation of drones that are more destructive, more accurate, and have a longer range than the Arash-2 drone. He declined to provide further technical details, citing security concerns.
The Iranian military also claimed that many damaged military systems have been restored since the ceasefire and that new technologies have significantly strengthened the country’s air defense capabilities.
However, no independently verifiable evidence has been presented to support these claims, and the United States has not issued an immediate response. The reported damage and operational status of the U.S. facilities have not been independently confirmed.
