White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has welcomed a baby girl named Viviana, nicknamed “Vivi.” This is Leavitt’s second child.
Leavitt shared the news on Thursday, May 7, according to CNN.
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “Viviana, also known as ‘Vivi,’ joined our family on May 1. Our hearts are overflowing with love. She is healthy and doing great. Her big brother is also enjoying spending time with his new little sister.”
Less than a week before giving birth, Leavitt attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. As she is currently on maternity leave, members of the administration have been asked to assist with press briefings.
During her absence, Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared in the White House briefing room for the first time on Tuesday. A White House official praised Rubio’s performance, saying he handled the role very naturally, particularly while discussing Iran-related issues.
Reports suggest that Vice President JD Vance may now appear more regularly in White House press briefings. Other officials known for their television and public communication skills, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, may also take part. President Donald Trump himself could also appear at some briefings, according to reports.
