At least nine suspected militants were killed during a series of intelligence-based security operations conducted across multiple districts of Balochistan, official security sources reported. The targeted drives—executed under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3—took place across the Ziarat, Harnai, and Surab districts.
According to security personnel, the primary engagement occurred in a mountainous belt bridging Ziarat and Harnai. Acting on specific intelligence regarding an insurgent hideout, security forces encircled the location, neutralizing eight militants during the exchange and destroying the compound.
In a separate operation in the Hajika village of Surab district, forces eliminated another militant after detecting insurgent movements across the Dasht Katai and Hajika areas. Authorities seized a cache of arms, ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, walkie-talkies, and a motorcycle from the sites. Officials reaffirmed that anti-terror operations will persist until militant networks are dismantled and stability is restored.
The recent operations follow a surge in counter-terrorism activity across the province. A day prior, two militants were killed in the Killi Zaik area, while seven suspects—alleged by authorities to have external backing—were neutralized in the Kharan district earlier in the week.
Security conditions in Pakistan, particularly across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, have seen heightened instability in recent years. Data from the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) underscores that these two regions remain the primary centers of violence in the country, accounting for nearly 96% of all conflict-related fatalities recorded in recent months.
