Rani Mukerji-Abhishek Bachchan Reunion After 20 Years? Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ May Make It Happen

Excitement surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action film King, directed by Siddharth Anand, has reached a new high. While speculation about the big-budget project has been swirling for some time, a fresh update has added even more intrigue for fans.

According to reports in the Indian media, King could bring Bollywood stars Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan together on the big screen after nearly two decades. The two actors are reportedly being considered for roles opposite each other in the film.

Earlier, there were reports that Rani Mukerji might make a cameo appearance as the mother of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan’s character. However, the possibility of a Rani-Abhishek reunion has added another major attraction to the film’s already star-studded cast.

The filmmakers have yet to officially confirm the actors’ roles or the reported casting.

King is also expected to reunite Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji after a long gap. The popular pair last shared the screen in Karan Johar’s 2006 hit Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

The film reportedly boasts a massive ensemble cast featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan, along with Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Raghav Juyal.

If all goes according to plan, King is scheduled to hit cinemas on December 24 this year.

With multiple major stars potentially sharing the screen—and the possibility of two long-awaited reunions—the Siddharth Anand directorial is already generating considerable buzz ahead of its release.
