New York Hosts 5th International Trade Fair and Chamber Annual Business Expo

New York became a gathering place for international business and commerce on September 17, as business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and professionals from the United States, Bangladesh and other countries took part in the 5th New York International Trade Fair and Chamber Annual Business Expo 2026.

The event was held at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), at 199 Chambers Street in Manhattan, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Local business owners joined Bangladeshi-American entrepreneurs, Bangladeshi business representatives and participants from countries including India, China, Nepal and Pakistan.

The opening session featured remarks from Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed, president of the Bangladesh-US Chamber of Commerce and Industries; Mark Jaffe, president and chief executive officer of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce; and Kelly Loeffler, administrator of the US Small Business Administration.

In her remarks, Loeffler highlighted the contribution of small businesses and entrepreneurs to the US economy and job creation. She also emphasized the importance of helping businesses expand, creating new opportunities and providing support to entrepreneurs.

Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed, in his address, highlighted the role of Bangladeshi-American businesses in the United States and the importance of strengthening commercial ties between Bangladesh and the US.

The expo brought together businesses and professionals from diverse sectors, providing an opportunity for participants to showcase their products and services, build professional connections and explore potential investment and business partnerships.

The participation of entrepreneurs from Bangladesh and other South Asian countries also underscored the growing role of immigrant and international business communities in New York’s commercial landscape.
