TEHRAN — The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a high-stakes warning to the United States and Israel, declaring that any further military aggression against Iran would trigger a conflict that extends far beyond the borders of the Middle East.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, May 20, the IRGC addressed what it termed “American-Zionist enemies,” asserting that Washington and Tel Aviv have failed to learn from past strategic miscalculations. The Guard cautioned that Iran is prepared to respond with force that the adversaries “cannot even imagine.”
“We Are People of War”
The IRGC’s statement was punctuated by references to the Quran, emphasizing a stance of steadfast military readiness. The force declared, “We are people of war. The world will see our strength not in empty rhetoric, but on the battlefield.”
The statement further claimed that even when faced with the world’s most advanced military hardware, Iran has yet to utilize its full defensive and offensive capabilities. “Should aggression occur again,” the IRGC warned, “the resulting conflict will not be confined to the Middle East. Our destructive response will reach places beyond their imagination.”
Growing Regional Volatility
The warning comes amid a sharp escalation in tensions across the region. International observers have noted an increasing military footprint in the area, with reports indicating that the United States has begun positioning military aircraft and logistical supplies within Israel.
The IRGC’s rhetoric suggests a shift from previous defensive postures, signaling that Tehran is prepared to broaden the scope of any potential military confrontation. While the U.S. has issued its own firm warnings to Iran, the rapid buildup of regional assets by Western powers continues to fuel concerns regarding a large-scale military rupture.
