Iran Claims Strike on U.S. Military Facilities in Kuwait

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a new round of attacks targeting U.S. military installations in Kuwait, according to a report by Al Jazeera on Thursday (July 23).

The IRGC said the attacks were not directed against the people of Kuwait, but were carried out in response to recent U.S. military actions.

According to the IRGC, the operation targeted:

A large military equipment warehouse at Ali Al Salem Air Base
A Patriot missile defense system
A hangar housing MQ-9 Reaper drones
U.S. troop accommodation at Al-Adiri Barracks
Two helicopter hangars

The IRGC claimed the strikes caused casualties and inflicted significant damage on helicopters and drones stationed at the facilities.

The group also said it targeted a telecommunications tower in retaliation for what it described as U.S. strikes on telecommunications infrastructure inside Iran.

However, the United States has not immediately commented on the IRGC’s claims, and there has been no independent verification of the reported attacks or the alleged damage.
