Today, we celebrate the 56th Independence Day of our nation—the historic day of March 26, 1971, which stands as a symbol of the courage, sacrifice, and indomitable spirit of the Bengali people.
On this day, we remember the Father of the Nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, along with the Commander-in-Chief M. A. G. Osmani, the great founding leaders and military leaders of the Liberation War. We also pay tribute to the three million martyrs whose sacrifices made our dream of an independent Bangladesh a reality.
