A private helicopter crashed into the sea just seconds after takeoff in Greece, killing all three people on board.
The accident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday, August 17, on the popular Greek tourist island of Sifnos.
Fire service authorities confirmed that all three occupants were killed in the crash.
According to Greek newspaper Kathimerini, the Bell helicopter had taken off from a nearby helipad and was scheduled to fly over the island.
However, moments after becoming airborne, the helicopter crashed into the sea.
The exact cause of the accident was not immediately known.
The report also revealed that the helicopter’s pilot had been hired only two months earlier. While it remains unclear whether the pilot’s recent appointment had any connection to the crash, authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
