A New York City Department of Education employee has been arrested on multiple sex-related charges following an investigation by the New York Police Department, authorities said.
Police identified the suspect as 48-year-old Steven Schnee. He was taken into custody shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday after investigators examined allegations of inappropriate contact with a minor.
According to the NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, Schnee is facing several charges, including forcible touching, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the circumstances surrounding the case. The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
