The latest health examination results of U.S. President Donald Trump have been released. Although the report indicates that the 79-year-old president has gained weight, it states that he remains in “excellent health.” However, the report makes no mention of a skin condition that recently appeared on his neck, according to *The Independent*.
Trump currently weighs 238 pounds, approximately 14 pounds more than he did during his last physical examination in April 2025. White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella has advised him to lose weight through increased physical activity and dietary changes. Nevertheless, the doctor stated that Trump is “fully fit” and that his “cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical functions remain strong.”
Despite ongoing public concerns about Trump’s cognitive abilities and physical health, the assessment paints an optimistic picture. The report notes that Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that can cause swelling in the legs, and that he regularly takes low-dose aspirin therapy to help prevent cardiovascular problems. The aspirin treatment is also said to contribute to bruising on his hands. However, the report does not mention the skin rash that appeared on Trump’s neck in March. Although Dr. Barbabella had previously attributed the rash to a side effect of a “very common cream,” neither the condition nor the cream was referenced in the latest report.
The omission of this recent medical issue has once again drawn attention to Trump’s history of downplaying health concerns in public. During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump declined to release his medical records. In 2015, his former physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, issued a letter describing Trump as “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” but later acknowledged that Trump had dictated the letter himself. In 2020, when Trump was hospitalized with COVID-19, his then-physician Dr. Sean Conley later admitted that he had attempted to present an overly optimistic account of the president’s condition rather than being fully transparent.
Questions have also been raised about Trump’s frequent use of makeup or bandages to cover bruises on his hands, as well as reports that he has appeared to doze off during cabinet meetings and Oval Office press briefings. Trump has dismissed such claims, saying that he merely closes his eyes out of boredom.
Meanwhile, a recent Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll found that 59% of Americans do not believe Trump has the mental sharpness required to serve effectively as president. Additionally, 55% of respondents said they do not think he is physically fit enough to fulfill the duties of the office.
