US Weighs Robust Military Action Against Iran Amid Diplomatic Impasse

WASHINGTON — The United States is reportedly formulating plans for a decisive military offensive against Iran in an attempt to break the current deadlock in ongoing negotiations.

According to a recent report by the US news outlet Axios, Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command (CENTCOM), is scheduled to brief President Donald Trump on a series of strategic military options. Citing informed sources, the report indicates that the Pentagon has drawn up contingencies for a rapid, high-intensity strike campaign targeting critical Iranian infrastructure.

Beyond direct airstrikes, military planners are also evaluating the feasibility of taking control of strategic sectors within the Strait of Hormuz. This alternative approach is primarily aimed at securing and resuming international commercial shipping operations in the region. The Axios report suggests that the deployment of ground forces has not been ruled out to achieve these operational objectives.

Currently, the Trump administration views a comprehensive naval blockade as its primary mechanism for applying geopolitical pressure on Tehran. However, sources indicate that if the Iranian government refuses to alter its diplomatic posture, President Trump is seriously considering authorizing kinetic military action.
