Bangladesh Association of Florida Hosts Colorful Eid Reunion 2026

The Bangladesh Association of Florida held its Eid Reunion 2026 with great festivity and enthusiasm. The event took place on Sunday, March 29, at a community hall in Belle Glade, Florida. The association has been organizing this reunion regularly since 1996.

The program began in a warm and harmonious atmosphere with recitations from sacred texts of different religions.

The event was hosted by the Association’s President, ABM Golam Mostofa. Secretary Rafiqul Islam delivered the welcome speech, while Vice President Mohammad Shahed supervised the overall arrangements.

A vibrant cultural program was one of the highlights of the reunion. Performers included Lovlu, Babu, Rusho, child artist Pradip, Dulal, and others. Their musical performances created a joyful Eid atmosphere among the audience.

The celebration was further enriched by an informal discussion where participants shared nostalgic memories of Eid from their childhood. Among those who took part were Senior Director Md. Harun, Organizational Secretary Awal Dayan, Joint General Secretaries Reza Islam and Md. Khorshed, Executive Directors Asim Roy and Bulbul, along with others.
Event decoration was managed by Executive Directors Titu and Tanvir, while sound control was handled by Tanvir and Babu. Special contributions were made by Senior Advisors Abdul Wahed Mahfuz and Nazmun Mahfuz.

The discussion segment also featured several community leaders, including Awal Dayan (Convener of the 31st Asian Food Fair & Cultural Show 2026), Chairman Naeem Khan Daud, Secretary M.K. Alam, Dhaka Club General Secretary Pabon, Ektara Florida CEO Imran Jony, President Rubaiya Mamun, Bangladesh Club President Liton Majumdar, Miami Boishakhi Mela Chief Advisor Zaman, Dr. Salauddin, FOBANA Chairman Atikur Rahman, founding member Junayed Akhtar, political figure Manjur Shahin, and community leaders Shahin Mahmud, Alinur Monju, and Shahed Nur Azad, among others.

Speakers noted that while Eid celebrations abroad may not fully match those in Bangladesh, the spirit remains alive through prayers, visiting each other’s homes, and exchanging greetings. Many expressed deep nostalgia for the joy of childhood Eids, acknowledging that such moments can never truly be recreated.

Former President and founding member, Md. Imran joined the event virtually from Bangladesh and delivered a brief message.

After lunch, representatives of various community organizations were invited on stage and honored. These included Ektara Florida, Bangladesh Club, Miami Boishakhi Mela, Karigor, and Dhaka Club. Notable attendees included Naeem Khan Dadan and Ektara Florida President Rubaiya Mamun.

The organizers of the upcoming 31st Asian Food Fair & Cultural Show were also introduced, including Convener Awal Dayan, Chairman Abu Naeem Daud, and Secretary M.K. Alam.

In his closing remarks, President ABM Mostofa stated that the Bangladesh Association continues to work beyond conventional activities to support underprivileged communities both in Bangladesh and in the United States. He expressed gratitude to board members, advisors, and well-wishers for their continued support.

The event concluded with remarks from prominent Florida community
figures, Mahfuz and Nazmun Mahfuz, who thanked attendees and
participants.

The program was made successful with the support of Executive Directors Habib, Uttam, Hakim, Rashed, Morshed, Jitu, Sohel, Kamal, Faisal, Titu, Naser, Lebu, and Mostafiz.
