At least 11 people were injured after an ammonia gas leak at an industrial complex in Aqaba, Jordan.
Jordan’s state-run Al Mamlaka reported on Monday, September 14, that the southern port of Aqaba was quickly evacuated as a precaution after authorities were alerted to the gas leak.
Leak Contained Within Industrial Complex
The incident occurred during maintenance work at the industrial facility.
Authorities said the gas release was brought under control within the complex after emergency crews responded quickly.
Local authorities and rescue teams remain on the ground as efforts continue to manage the emergency and ensure the safety of workers and residents in the area.
