Resorts World Awards $280,000 in Grants to 28 Nonprofit Organizations to Mark America’s 250th Anniversary

QUEENS, N.Y. — Resorts World has awarded $280,000 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations across New York State through its “A Day of Giving” initiative, a special program launched to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Under the initiative, each selected organization will receive a $10,000 grant to support programs that strengthen local communities and improve the quality of life for New Yorkers. Originally established with a $250,000 commitment, the initiative expanded after each of Resorts World’s three New York properties contributed an additional grant, bringing the total investment to $280,000 and increasing the number of recipients from 25 to 28.

The grants will support 16 nonprofit organizations in the New York City region, six in the Hudson Valley, and six in the Catskills. The selected organizations represent a wide range of community services, including education, healthcare, arts and culture, youth development, immigrant assistance, community engagement, and support for children, seniors, and families.

More than 400 nonprofit organizations from across New York State submitted applications through an open grant process. Recipients were selected through a regional random drawing. Recognizing the large number of qualified applicants, Resorts World expanded the program by awarding three additional grants—one from each of its New York properties.

“America’s 250th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect not only on our nation’s history, but also on the people and organizations that continue to shape its future,” said Robert DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East. “These nonprofits represent the very best of New York. Every day, they provide essential services, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for those who need them most. We are honored to support their important work through this special initiative.”

The grants are part of Resorts World’s ongoing commitment to community investment through its RW Gives program. Since 2011, the company has contributed millions of dollars to hundreds of nonprofit organizations while matching employee charitable donations dollar for dollar.

Resorts World also highlighted its long-term support for public education, noting that its three New York properties have contributed more than $5 billion to the New York State public education fund, making the company one of the state’s largest contributors to education.

The 2026 grant recipients include organizations dedicated to healthcare, arts and culture, youth development, immigrant services, disability support, animal welfare, neighborhood development, and a wide range of charitable initiatives that strengthen communities across New York State.
