Bangladesh Women Fail to Cross 100-Run Mark Against Dominant Australia

The Bangladesh Women’s cricket team suffered a major batting collapse, failing to reach even the 100-run mark against Australia. In their second match of the Women’s T20 World Cup, the Nigar Sultana-led side was restricted to a meager 77 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Losing the toss and being sent in to bat first today, Wednesday, at Headingley in Leeds, England, the Tigresses found themselves in deep trouble after losing 5 wickets for just 27 runs. Bangladesh could never recover from that early damage, eventually crawling to 77 runs.

Captain Nigar Sultana top-scored for the team, grinding out 27 runs off 47 balls, while Ritu Moni contributed 16 runs. A staggering eight batters failed to reach double digits. For Australia, Kim Garth, Sophie Molineux, and Ellyse Perry claimed two wickets each.

In reply, the Australian Women’s cricket team is cruising toward victory, despite losing opener Beth Mooney with the scoreboard at 31 runs.
