The newly elected committee of the New York Bangladeshi American Lions Club hosted a colorful “Appreciation Dinner” on the evening of May 22 at Gulshan Terrace in Woodside. Alongside club members, the event was attended by prominent figures from New York’s Bangladeshi community, journalists, business leaders, social and cultural organizers, and people from various professional backgrounds with their families. The evening was marked by warmth, unity, joy, and a festive atmosphere.
With the lively presence of guests, Gulshan Terrace turned into a vibrant gathering place where many attendees exchanged greetings and reconnected after a long time. Guests also congratulated the members of the newly elected committee.
Attendees highly praised the New York Bangladeshi American Lions Club for its various social, humanitarian, and community-based activities.
At the beginning of the program, re-elected President JFM Russell and newly elected Secretary Masud Rana Tapan warmly welcomed the guests with floral greetings. They expressed gratitude to everyone present and pledged to further expand the club’s activities in the future.
In his speech, President JFM Russell said, “The Lions Club is not just an organization; it is a platform for humanitarian service. We have always tried to stand beside people in need, and we want to continue that commitment in the future. The love and support of the community are our greatest strengths. The new committee will work together with everyone on a larger scale.”
He added, “Today’s appreciation dinner is a small effort to express our gratitude to our members, supporters, and the community. We are truly inspired by the way everyone has stood beside us.”
Secretary-elect Masud Rana Tapan said, “We want to work toward strengthening unity and mutual relationships within the community. The enthusiastic participation in today’s event proves that the New York Bangladeshi American Lions Club holds a special place in the hearts of community members.”
He further noted that the club hopes to involve the younger generation in social and humanitarian activities and plans to organize more large-scale service and community programs in the future.
Along with dinner, the evening featured cultural performances, music, and lively conversations. Guests enjoyed delicious food as well as the entertainment program.
Organizers said the appreciation dinner was arranged mainly to express gratitude to club members, supporters, and the wider community. Guests also thanked the organizers for hosting a successful and enjoyable event.
