Americans to Welcome Bangla Film “Pressure Cooker”

A new Bangla-language film titled “Pressure Cooker” has been officially announced for release across multiple cities in the United States and Canada. The film is jointly produced by Kanar Films and Impress Telefilm and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Raihan Rafi. It has been dedicated to the late filmmaker Tareque Masud as a tribute.

The North American distribution is being handled by Bioskope Films LLC.

The film’s opening premiere will take place on May 15 at Kew Gardens Cinemas in Queens, New York. After the premiere, the film will begin regular screenings from May 22 in major cities across the United States.

The screening list includes Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Miami, Atlanta, Phoenix, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, and Chicago, along with several other cities.

Organizers have said that detailed showtimes and ticket information will  soon be available on theatre websites and online ticketing platforms.

The promotional poster highlights four female lead characters, suggesting a powerful visual narrative centred on contemporary social realities and emotional depth.
