Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Vows Full Implementation of ‘July Charter’ at DC Conference

DHAKA — Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to executing every point of the ‘July Charter,’ describing it as a foundational mandate for the nation’s future.

The Prime Minister made these remarks on Sunday while inaugurating the four-day District Commissioner (DC) Conference-2026 at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

A High-Level Gathering
The annual summit serves as a critical bridge between central policy and field administration. Cabinet members, state ministers, and top secretaries are attending the sessions alongside DCs from across the country.

Earlier in the morning, in a notable display of accessibility, the Prime Minister walked from his office at the Secretariat to the venue at approximately 10:20 AM. Citizens lined the streets to greet him, with the PM waving back to the crowds before entering the auditorium.

Focus on Governance and Public Interest
Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Roni confirmed that the conference will facilitate direct dialogue between 56 ministries and field-level administrators.

Total Sessions: 34 (including 30 working sessions).

Proposals Received: 1,729 proposals were submitted from field offices.

Key Focus: Out of the 498 shortlisted proposals, the Health Services Division leads with 44 specific items for discussion.

The conference remains a traditional platform for the government to issue directives on development programs and refine grassroots administration based on public interest.
