Special Correspondent: A colorful Pohela Boishakh celebration will take place in New York on Tuesday, April 14, with participation from the Bangladeshi community. Organized by Drama Circle, the Bengali New Year festival will be held at Queens Palace in Woodside, starting at 7:00 PM.
According to the organizers, the celebration of Bengali New Year 1433 will feature traditional panta ilish, a variety of cultural performances, and other festive arrangements that reflect the spirit of Boishakh. The initiative aims to preserve and promote Bengali culture and heritage among expatriates.
The program will include music, dance, and performances inspired by traditional Boishakhi themes, creating a lively and festive atmosphere for attendees. Organizers have invited everyone to join and celebrate in the vibrant spirit of the Bengali New Year.
They believe such events play an important role in maintaining cultural traditions abroad and passing them on to the younger generation.
Notably, Drama Circle in New York has been organizing Pohela Boishakh celebrations regularly for more than three decades.
